Therapist Overview
Often, life turns out wildly different than we planned or hoped for. Sometimes we find that the usual ways of coping don’t seem to be working anymore, or kids bring up unexpected feelings in us. I work with children and parents navigating life’s curveballs that often include behavioral issues, school challenges, anxiety, and trauma. Understanding a child’s experience helps to find the underlying sources of tension. Exploring parents’ own histories helps to foster a stronger, deeper relationship and increase moments of joy. I am able to connect well with both kids and adults to create a safe, comfortable and empowering environment. I seek to build on relationships and the strengths already present to help parents understand their children and respond more effectively, as well as gain more insight into themselves. I use play-based or talk therapy depending on the child’s developmental level. Additionally, I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship, or life stress.
