Therapist Overview

I believe that each individual, regardless of age, has the ability to grow and change given the proper tools and support. By providing a meaningful and nurturing environment, I lay the groundwork for personal insight and transformation to occur. I use a non-directive Person Centered Approach to counseling which often involves expressive arts and games. At times, when a more directive approach is appropriate, I use cognitive and/or behavioral techniques. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist. I earned my Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas in 2001, with an emphasis in Play Therapy. My specialties include Play Therapy, anxiety, depression, child/adolescent issues, parent education, trauma and abuse, wellness and eating disorder recovery. In addition to counseling, I am a certified yoga instructor and I continue to teach yoga and keep up a regular practice. I am currently accepting new clients. Please contact me to set up an appoi
