Therapist Overview
I have specialized training in sexual health and I’m a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). I work with all aspects of sex and sexuality that may be the cause of pain or distress. These issues could include any variety of difficulties with desire, arousal, intimacy, physical pain, communication, identity/expression, or fertility. I work with individuals/couples of all expressions (LGBTQ-identified, heterosexual-identified, non-monogamous, polyamorous, etc) to integrate sex positive communication into their relationships. I was trained in a generalist fashion and weave family systems therapy with person-centered to allow the client’s needs to drive the direction of therapy. I also incorporate the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, relaxation training, and narrative therapy to assist clients in finding relief from symptoms of trauma, anxiety, and depression. I believe that validation of feelings and experiences is what opens the door to productive change in therapy. I create a safe space for my clients to share their narratives without fear of judgment. Together I work with my clients to find what is missing or what needs to change in order to move forward in an authentic way.
