Therapist Overview
We all want to be seen, heard, and understood. We all seek to be cared for by those that we can trust. This is what the essence of counseling is to me: to see you, hear you, understand you and care for you. I am an excellent listener, and I can be there to help you sort out the more complicated parts of life as we walk life’s journey together. I practice from a holistic view and use a range of therapies, including talk therapy, expressive arts, and play therapy to better understand and relate to individuals from ages three to ninety-nine. My specialty is Child Centered Play Therapy and Trauma Informed Play Therapy. Play is a child’s nature language and toys are the words they use to communicate. Through play, children can better learn to understand their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and experiences and better learn to love themselves. In the process of understanding self, children can be in a better place to have more joyful, healthier relationships. Play therapy supports parents as well. I can provide you with insights into themes I am discovering through your child’s play and provide encouragement through the difficulties of parenting. I can also provide education that may support you and your child in having a better quality of life and support you in navigating the education system.
