Therapist Overview
Many of us feel alone with our suffering and haven’t been taught how to address it. I find that a compassionate focus on the parts of us that suffer brings meaningful change. At some point we eventually discover we’ve developed behaviors that were once adaptive or self-protective but no longer serve us, or that we are in relationships that bring emotional strain. I use a Jungian and relational technique, with the attempt to stay focused on emotions in the present while uncovering the depths of the unconscious and buried past traumas. I aim to develop a trusting relationship where we can create the space to explore what brings you in to therapy. By facilitating a caring, dedicated attentiveness to you and the issues you bring to therapy, and thinking together from a psychological perspective, it’s possible to heal and grow. Taking the first step to reach out for therapy can be quite anxiety-provoking. There are many forces in ourselves, in our families, and in our culture, that might stop us from reaching out for help. I would encourage you to listen to your gut if you feel you need therapy. I look forward to hearing from you.
