Therapist Overview
*I am not accepting new clients at this time. I offer an open, supportive, & individualized approach, meeting each person where they are. Fostering a therapeutic relationship involves building trust as we navigate through distressing emotions, situations, & overcoming barriers. Sessions may range from learning & practicing coping skills to processing past traumas. I work with individuals who experience anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, co-occurring mental health & substance use disorders, relationship and/or familial issues, stress, etc. *I am unable to provide ESA letters for individuals who are not clients.* My treatment approach is holistic, mindful, & strengths-based. I incorporate aspects of: cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, dialectical behavioral therapy, & motivational interviewing. Prior to COVID, animal-assisted psychotherapy sessions took place at Alley Cat Cafe. Participating in Animal-Assisted Psychotherapy has been shown to reduce physiological & psychological signs of distress such as heart rate, blood pressure, anxiety, & stress. Animals are empathetic, non-judgmental, affectionate, & give unconditional love, which promotes healing in an environment that fosters acceptance & comfort.
