Life can sometimes seem overwhelming and unmanageable. We can be left with intense feelings of anxiety, sadness, and frustration that significantly impact our ability to balance life’s many demands. It is during these trying times that counseling may be helpful to create meaning and find resolution in the chaos. As a counselor, it is my privilege to offer support during these times by providing a safe and non-judgmental environment to process these concerns. I counsel young adults, children, teens, and families with issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, and eating disorders. I offer play therapy for children who lack the verbal skills needed to communicate their emotions effectively. I also provide focused treatment for anxiety disorders and have specialized experience working with complex eating disorders. My approach to counseling begins with fostering a positive client/therapist relationship. I believe the therapeutic relationship helps create an environment where emotional and behavioral change can occur. I use a combination of therapeutic interventions during session that are specifically tailored to the individual needs of each client.
