Therapist Overview
Transitions and life changes are some of the most challenging moments in our life, even good ones. It is not uncommon to experience anxiety, fear, depression, or sadness, along with excitement and an eagerness to move forward in life. However, we all experience these moments differently in our own unique way based on our environment, past experiences, and beliefs. Because we are all unique I work from a Person Centered approach based on the three pillars of unconditional positive regard, empathy, and congruence. My goal is not to tell you what to do, but help discover the necessary path to take. My work has focused on helping clients with self empowerment, life transitions, decision making, establish healthy boundaries in their relationships, and goal setting, along with rewriting and owning ones internal narrative rather than be controlled by it. I have also worked with clients struggling with Bipolar, abuse, self-harm,and sexual identity. While I will encourage and affirm during our sessions, it is also my duty to challenge decision making and push you towards finding the solution within yourself. Change is hard to come by if your counselor is only all affirming and doing all the talking. I believe all my clients have the ability to find the answer internally. Sometimes we just need help.
