Therapist Overview
I originally wanted to be a musician, but I sustained an injury while in music school that prevented me from completing my performance degree. Instead I began to do volunteer work and took internships at various organizations in the Twin Cities area. I started working with people experiencing severe life problems: homelessness, addiction, criminal backgrounds, HIV, and others. This became a new career for me. I focus mainly on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which seeks to fix problems by helping people changing their habits of thought and behavior. I specialize in treating trauma, addictions, and personality disorders (when a person’s difficulties and symptoms are so deeply entrenched it is embedded into their very personality). I am very direct, and have been described by my clients as no-nonsense and “brass tacks.” People who have enjoyed working with me have tended to like direct feedback and clear answers to their questions.
