Therapist Overview
When the people who help everyone else finally decide that it’s time to get help for themselves, it often means they have tried everything they can think of before coming to a site like psychology today to find a therapist. I specialize in working with emergency responders, crisis-oriented professionals like nurses and clinicians, and others who are used to being the ones who solve others’ problems. Trauma, burnout, depression, PTSI, PTSD, and all of the impacts these things have on a person and on relationships – these are things that can be treated! As a psychologist I have extensive experience delivering evaluation and treatment services as well as consultation and supervision of others in the field. I am certified by the ICISF to teach and provide CISM and am passionate about building peer support teams. In therapy I utilize EMDR, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and brief stabilization services. It takes tremendous strength and courage to reach out and seek help, especially if you work in a profession that has traditionally dealt with trauma, depression, and other forms of distress using the “suck it up and get on with it” method. There’s no shame in seeking help. Needless suffering is the only real shame.
