Therapist Overview
Reaching out to ask for help is one of the bravest things you can do. It involves being seen; in our vulnerabilities and in our strengths. It involves holding hope for yourself, your relationship(s), your child, your life. As a clinician, it is my job to hold that hope for you, even when you cannot see it. I believe strongly in client-centered work, which means that I also believe that people are essentially driven towards their own highest good and healing; sometimes it just takes removing the obstacles, which we will identify and face together. My work with individuals, couples, families and children is strongly informed by systems thinking; meaning that I believe that people’s thoughts, ideas and actions are strongly influenced by their systems, or the people around them: families (both chosen and of origin), communities, cultures, and society as a whole. Throughout this process, I will bring the tools, but you will decide which ones to use based on your own values, motivations or lifestyles, or whether or not to use them at all. Through my therapeutic approach, and your willingness, we will team up to explore the ways you want to invite change into your life, and how to get there. I believe in therapy. I have seen it work. Things can get better, and if you decide you are ready, I would like to help.
