Therapist Overview
My work focuses on creating body trust and respect, healing from disordered eating behaviors and thoughts, and recovering from diagnosable eating disorders. I have worked across the continuum of all levels of care, age groups, genders, sexual orientations, races, and religions. My work combines honoring your individual story and path towards recovery while simultaneously providing you with the tools, insight, and information you need for that journey. This often also includes working with parents, partners, and other “family” members as they attempt to support their loved one’s recovery. I hold an MS & PhD in child, adolescent & family development with a specialty in marriage and family therapy and have devoted the past 20+ years to my work in the eating disorder community (i.e., public policy, training, prevention and intervention). Prior to Sundstrom I was a clinical director for Monte Nido’s adult and adolescent treatment facilities. Entering treatment can be scary; venturing into the unknown and taking a risk for yourself, your child or loved one, even when that risk promises the possibility of recovery. A part of you may feel hopeful while another part often feels resistant or hopeless. I am here to be a part of your journey know that a fully recovered life is possible for you.
