With the recent thunderstorm that is COVID-19, all of us are now operating with a heightened level of anxiety, worry, and stress. Some of us are familiar with this anxiety spike as it is a reminder of previous life events we would rather tuck away. For others, this anxiety is a novel experience that feels both disorienting and unwanted. As we work through this global pandemic together, my hope is that continuing to connect with others will translate to facilitating a feeling of control and autonomy that COVID-19 seems to have taken from everyone. Transitions are difficult but they do not need to be made in total isolation. What does “prioritizing our mental health” mean? Each person has a unique path to discovering the balance between how much they can strive for in a day with how much they need to recharge their mind, body, and spirit.
