Therapist Overview
As someone who came to this country as an adult (from Israel), and grew up speaking another language (Hebrew), I know that there is never just one way of seeing things, never only one perspective. Your culture makes a difference. Your language makes a difference. Your sexual orientation, gender identity. Your DNA. Your soul. Your upbringing. My role is to listen carefully to how you experience the world, how you relate to others, how you think of yourself–and then reflect back to you what I heard, so you can decide what you wish to keep, what you wish to adjust, and what you wish to let go of. At the heart of my work is mindfulness, a practice I have been dedicated to for over fifteen years through meditation and study of Buddhism. I offer practical guidance in building stress-reduction skills. Mindfulness, with its ever-accepting attitude towards “what is,” also brings a spirit of curiosity, non-judgement, caring and playfulness to sessions. Therapy is always uncharted territory. It is a process of discovery; what it is that will be discovered is yet unknown. But my experience has shown me that when the client is committed, progress is inevitable. This is an exciting journey. I invite you to it.
