Therapist Overview
All children experience difficulty in the course of growing up (at home, school, with other children, etc.) or may behave in some way which concerns their parents or teachers. You can always seek extra support to help your child overcome these difficulties and increase their resilience. If you and/or your child’s teacher or pediatrician are concerned about your child’s adjustment or behavior, play therapy is the developmentally appropriate way to help your child. I provide a safe and understanding environment with a variety of toys and expressive arts materials for your child to communicate what they may not say in words. I place importance on parent involvement in therapy, and offer consultation and support throughout the process. I require parents to meet with me after every 5 to 7 play therapy sessions so that I can support you in learning therapy interventions to practice at home to help magnify the relationship you have with your child. I believe that there is power in taking time to understand how a child views the world, and their experience. If your child is in need of additional support, please contact me by phone or e-mail. I welcome your questions and concerns in order to make sure you feel comfortable beginning the therapeutic journey with me.
