Now accepting new clients! Through counseling, I help new parents who are struggling to adjust. We work together to find solutions, learn new skills, and build your village. Many of my clients come in feeling overwhelmed, isolated, disconnected from their partner, and exhausted. The families that I work with have a parent with a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder, including bipolar, psychosis, and birth trauma. Sometimes becoming a parent activates trauma that we forgot about or thought we had dealt with, including our own experience of being parented by our own parents. I enjoy helping navigate those experiences. Clients say my use of humor and radical compassion helps them to explore and relax into their new role of being a parent. I work collaboratively with all on your care team- your OBGYN, PCP, nutritionist, etc to wrap you in support and care during the vulnerable transition to parenthood. If in the Kansas City metro, house calls can be arranged. My goal is to help you feel more like yourself, more attached to your baby, and more connected to your partner. Part of my own personal social justice commitment is to take Medicaid insurance and extend this care to moms in my community. We are meant to parent in a village and I consider it an honor to be apart of it.
