Therapist Overview
I find that an empathetic approach is the best way to build rapport and trust with a client. I am fortunate to have worked across many populations (infants, children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, military personnel, special needs, etc) and feel that creative arts therapy is universal. I have experience in a myriad of diagnosis ranging from anxiety and depression to acute psychiatric disorders. As a creative arts therapist I approach my sessions with sensitivity and an open mind. Due to the nature of my work, I always bring mindfulness to the body – mind connection. Once the client can bring this awareness to their process, they can gain insight and start make the necessary connections. As a creative arts therapist, I have a background in dance/movement therapy, art therapy, drama therapy, yoga and psychotherapy. I always try to bring an artistic aspect to my sessions in order to access the creative part of the brain.
