Ideally, childhood is a time full of wonder, play and learning in the context of safe relationships. Sometimes, despite the best intentions of caregivers, children experience trauma or other situations that challenge their sense of safety. Other times, a child’s behaviors make it clear that they are struggling, but it’s not clear why. As with many issues, the earlier the intervention, the easier it is to address the need. My practice focuses on children under age 10. When you know your child has experienced something upsetting, or you see negative emotional or behavioral patterns emerging, it may be time to seek therapeutic support. I have training and experience specific to working with young children ages 0-10 addressing mental health needs related to trauma, anxiety, and family challenges.
