Therapist Overview

I am Founder and Director of the Capital Institute for Cognitive Therapy. Since 2003, the Institute has been a leading provider of research-proven treatments and compassionate care. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) has been shown to be effective for a number of problems, including: depression, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), hoarding, panic, phobias, social anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), eating disorders, insomnia, chronic pain, personality disorders, and relationship problems. Studies find most patients in CBT have significant reduction in symptoms and distress. I am an internationally recognized CBT expert, author of a widely used book on empirically-supported treatments for anxiety and depression and presenter at major conferences. All of our therapists have advanced training in CBT, including mindfulness and acceptance based approaches. Many also do research, publish and train other professionals. My approach to therapy is warm and personal. I seek to understand your needs and goals. I then work with you to apply research-proven methods to help you feel better and thrive in your life. I know that many people are experiencing increased anxiety during the COVID19 crisis. WE ARE ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS FOR TELETHERAPY during this stressful time.
