I have been a clinical social worker/therapist for almost 30 years. My overall philosophy is to empower a client with tools to make personal changes that will ultimately make seeing me for therapy unnecessary. I specialize in clients who are going through personal transitions such as divorce, grief or other uncertainties that cause anxiety and I have a lot of experiencing working with clients who experience gender/relationship violence or trauma. I tailor my approach to each client’s needs but most of the work I do derives from a Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) approach. CBT is structured talk therapy over a limited number of sessions that helps clients become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so they can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.
