Therapist Overview
My practice focuses on the treatment of mental health issues as they relate to teens, adults, older adults, and LGBTQ+. A guiding principle that informs my therapeutic approach is a Strengths Perspective. I believe we are each looking for meaning and purpose in life. Life can bring challenges and circumstances that leave us feeling alone, scared, lost, or hopeless. It is my belief that each individual has the solutions, and my role is to create a safe and affirming environment in which solutions can be identified, growth can begin, and healing can be achieved. The areas I have sought additional training are: depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, trauma, chronic illness, and gender expression/identity. Besides a Strengths Perspective, I also incorporate additional therapeutic modalities: Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral, Narrative, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma Focused. If you are looking to engage in therapy, the first step takes courage! The first step being, acknowledging you deserve to give attention to your individual needs, and showing yourself some compassion as you seek help. My hope is that as you navigate this journey, you will find a deeper self-awareness, acceptance, internal peace, and a life full of joy.
