Therapist Overview

If you are in the midst of a significant life transition, a stressful change, a daunting medical diagnosis, or a painful loss, I am glad you found my page. Perhaps you are caring for a loved one, and find yourself mentally and physically exhausted, or you’re a health care professional feeling overwhelmed. Or maybe you are about to embark on treatment for cancer and are struggling with a tangled ball of emotions. In my work with clients, I create a safe space to unpack and explore these issues, and to be a companion on your journey toward healing, growth, and transformation. Whatever brought you here today: I am here to listen. My specialties are counseling adults of all ages (from college-aged to elders) who are experiencing a medical illness, grief, loss, and/or trauma, family caregivers taking care of a sick or elderly loved one, & health care workers. I have 15+ years experience counseling adults who are coping with a diagnosis of cancer, HIV/AIDS, & other chronic illnesses. I strive to be warm, affirming, & culturally sensitive, & I am personally rooted in a desire for social justice. When I am not with clients or my family, I am a busy activist & volunteer in the gun violence prevention movement, in my faith community, & at my daughter’s school. I’m located in Brookland & by telehealth. I look forward to hearing your story.
