Therapist Overview
As a parent of a struggling teenage son, you want to do whatever you can to help get your teen on the right path. I help struggling teenage guys discover their identity, realize their strengths, and use those strengths to catapult into adulthood with a sense of competence and confidence. Adolescence is an exciting time where teens form their unique identity, build meaningful social connections, and learn to think in an innovative way. Ironically, what makes adolescence so exciting can also make it enormously stressful for both teens and their caretakers. Teenage guys often encounter unique challenges during this journey as they may face a subtle but powerful pressure to “have it all figured out” and to just “white knuckle” their way through. I help teenage guys navigate this often confusing time, while also empowering their caretakers with evidence-based strategies to help their teenage son. As a child and adolescent clinical psychologist, I strongly believe in the power of evidence-based psychology to improve the well-being of children, teens and young adults. In addition to working with teenage guys, I also specialize in pediatric behavioral sleep medicine and in working with kids and teens with type 1 diabetes.
