Therapist Overview

My work is guided by the vision of the developing person in the context of his or her interpersonal relationships. I believe that counseling is most effective when both client and counselor have the same well-defined goals, and that these goals are explicitly stated. I hold the following assumptions: 1) change is inevitable 2) collaboration is necessary 3) clients possess inherent strengths 4) change is both reflective and action-based 5) there are many ways to view problems 6)therapy is best when it is episodic. I work closely with Dr. Babe and Wendy Wan, PMHNP for clients requiring medications. My professional development involved studies at Loyola University Chicago where I received an M.A. degree in Counseling. The primary area of my training was marriage and family therapy. Developmental psychology, family systems, and brief therapy provide the theoretical framework for my practice. I look forward to working with you towards meeting your goals and success.
