Therapist Overview
My practice focuses on clients’ individual concerns and on couple and family relationships as well. In addition to my training and experience as a marriage and family therapist, I have extensive experience treating adolescents, young adults and adults who are experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety. An additional area of my experience includes helping clients resolve the effects of physical, emotional or sexual trauma. I use a best practices model while incorporating each person’s unique individual and relational strengths, sources of resilience and support. I am a caring and careful listener, and I maintain openness, sensitivity and acceptance to my clients’ experiences in their life journeys. Developing and maintaining safe and respectful therapeutic relationships with clients allows a collaboration that helps develop goals and choices through which they can improve and enhance their lives and relationships. I have training and experience in interpersonal psychotherapy as well as Structural, Bowenian and Contextual family therapy. I integrate CBT, mindfulness based and solution focused approaches when appropriate. As an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, I also provide clinical supervision for therapists and therapist interns working in a variety of practice settings.
