Richard Dean Desirey

For most of the last 30 years I have worked primarily with adolescents, developing a wide range of interventions and consulting organizations serving children and adolescents, directing programs and, over the last ten years managing a counseling agency, A New Way Center. This year, I have turned over ownership and directorship and work part-time as a therapist remaining involved through direct services. I have extensive experience assisting adolescents and adults overcome negative self beliefs and eliminate self-defeating behaviors. Assisting persons that cannot get past traumas and negative beliefs about themselves to move past them and gain agency in their lives. I am low key, non-judgemental, positive, culturally responsive, hopeful, and have known incredibly resilient folks over the last forty years that have continued to instruct and inform me how to be relevant and supportive to them in their journey toward wellness.
