Therapist Overview

These are unprecedented times, full of a lot of stress and uncertainty for many. A creative approach to teletherapy – using art, play, and multi-sensory tools – is essential to effectively engaging small children, as well as teens and adults, in this work. I believe in customizing treatment creatively to each unique individual and family, to bring about the shared discovery of methods and materials that best suit their needs. Within this partnership, combined with a solution-focused approach, my clients build strength and skills for addressing and expressing what words alone often fail to, to better manage through life’s challenges. Trauma-informed therapy encourages exploration of connections between our life experiences and the ways in which we come to automate our reactions and patterns of behavior (survival responses) in the present. Although not all problems are caused by “trauma”, addressing the root cause of any issue is essential to effective treatment and sustainable results.
