My clients have been through something difficult, and it continues to haunt them. They feel like the difficult thing has changed them. They’ve felt more alone; more worried. They waver from feelings of guilt, anger, and fear. They want to “get back to normal,” but they aren’t sure if they are able. My clients will sometimes turn to negative coping strategies like avoiding certain experiences, or engaging in self harm.
