Therapist Overview

I, along with my dog, Pippa, specialize in working with boys and young men, typically between the ages of 10 and 25 years old. Together, we will find ways to help you (and/or your son) learn to cope with stress, anxiety, anger, attention difficulties (ADHD) and major life changes. I provide individual and family therapy and emphasize healthy communication with self and others, problem-solving strategies, coping skills and the mind-body connection. I practice a strengths-based, growth-oriented approach and seize every opportunity to celebrate life and learn from the challenges that come with it. Chances are, we will learn and grow together. I am grateful for the work I do and the people I do it with. I grew up in the Midwest, studied in New York, and found a home in Portland.  I am a father, a step-father, a son, a step-son, a husband, a brother, a step-brother, a grandson, an uncle, a friend, and a client (I have a therapist, too!).  Along with my formal education and professional experience, these roles and relationships inform and shape my practice.
