Therapist Overview
My job, as I see it, is to help people get “unstuck”. I can’t “fix” you, you are not broken. I find out a client or a couple’s strengths and help them build from where they are at. I share tools that you can take home and use in your daily life. Examples: ways to cope with anxiety or more effective ways of communicating with your loved ones. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I was trained to think of “systems” (examples – work, family, church, friends). I learn about your life, keeping in mind all of the systems you are interacting with and help you come up with strategies to help you “control the controlables”. While I utilize a variety of traditional therapeutic approaches, I think my strength is my body-mind approach. Using non-traditional approaches such as: EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and PKP (Professional Kinesiology Practice), I help clients let go physically and emotionally from past traumas.
