Therapist Overview
Over the years I have worked with various individuals who have experienced hardships related to trauma, grief and loss, mood disorders, family dynamics, relationships, identity development & acceptance, coping, and more. Additionally, I work closely with the experiences of immigrant, refugee, and international communities specific to cross-cultural adjustment; multicultural, diversity, and social justice challenges; and community coping and resilience. Aside from engaging my clients in cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and holistic therapy approaches, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy which is widely used for the treatment of traumatic life experiences. Though specific to trauma, this form of therapy can be used for healing from just about any life hardship. In my professional career I hope to help empower people to recognize, honor, and celebrate their personal worth and potential, and the beauty of community and human connectedness.
