Therapist Overview
Taking the step to seek counseling, either for yourself or a loved one, is huge! It is a choice that is says, “I’m ready for a change.” My hope and purpose as your counselor is to walk with you through your journey of the therapeutic process of increased insight and awareness into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to build a sense of identity and control. I work with children and teens in conjunction with their families, as well as, adults, ranging in ages 4-50. I also provide family therapy to promote positive parenting skills, including behavior management techniques and effective communication tools within the family. My foundation to counseling is client-centered and focuses on the therapeutic relationship while providing empathy and relaying an unconditional positive regard for each individual client. I also utilize a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality, and Solution Focused while using Trust Based Relational Intervention, as well as, Art and Play. I do this kind of work because I love the challenges, the relationships created, the changes made, the sense of pride that naturally occurs when a client accomplishes a goal or makes a step toward their goal. I love the trust that is built that is unlike any other. It would be my honor to join you and your loved one on your journey to self healing!
