Life is hard. It can be confusing and full of pain and loss, as well as growth and joy. Our pasts too often crowd into our present, and the fear of the future too often holds us hostage. Sometimes we’re just at a loss, asking questions like “who am I anyway,” “why does this keep happening” or “why do I keep doing this.” Or maybe you are facing some inner conflict between parts of yourself, and it is getting in the way of how they want to live their lives. These are the sort of things that often bring someone to counseling, and they are the things that many of my clients are facing. I’m here to help with that. I’m a trained sex therapist and specialize in working with clients sorting through questions relating to sex, sexuality, LGBT+ concerns, and gender identity. I also work with clients addressing faith concerns & identity exploration. I take a client-focused, interpersonal approach to therapy with a focus on attachment theory. A favorite author of mine said a safe place is one where “…our hosts gave us the precious freedom to come and go on our own terms and did not claim us for their own needs. Only in a free space can re-creation take place and new life be found.” I seek to create that sort of space for my clients. I’d be honored to be on this courageous journey with you.
