Therapist Overview
My goal as a psychotherapist is to help people work through difficult experiences, traumas, or symptoms that may be holding them back. I believe that emotional pain can lead to anxiety, shame, and self-doubt. These feelings keep us feeling stuck and inhibit vital parts of ourselves. I strive to help my clients develop more compassion and curiosity toward their experiences so they can learn new ways of coping and achieve greater satisfaction, self-confidence, and authenticity. I am an insight-oriented therapist, but I incorporate tools from other approaches when I believe it could offer relief. I have spent 5 years working at college counseling centers, most recently at Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary. Other specialties include anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, self-esteem, and performing artists. Finding a therapist who is the right fit for you is extremely important. My style is warm, collaborative, and transparent. I believe in talking openly about the therapy process together. Please reach out if you are interested in scheduling a phone consultation to determine if we might be a good fit.
