We all have moments when we are triggered and respond in the present with adaptive patterns from the past – these responses no longer help or support our own best selves. At those times we need to be reminded and guided towards a new set of responses. In learning to stop our automatic response we also need support in believing in our own self worth as a constant, rather than acquired from outside ourselves or by what we surround ourselves with.
