Therapist Overview
What is your greatest source of distress right now? Many of us would point to people we don’t want to deal with, places we don’t want to go, things we don’t want to do, the thoughts and feelings we have, or a mixture of all the above! Our go-to coping strategy tends to be avoidance, control, and/or escape. This works for a while but it all eventually comes back, the struggle returns, and we feel stuck. I believe there is a way out of this vicious cycle. I want to help you learn to make room for the distress and move in the direction of a life that matters to you. I provide web-based and in-person sessions using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help adolescents, adults, and couples. My experience includes work with depression, anxiety, trauma, infidelity, and relationship difficulties. I have a particular focus on the role affect regulation plays in relational and behavioral problems.
