Therapist Overview
I work with adults, adolescents, and couples, many of whom are artists, professionals, or students struggling with the effects of anxiety and/or depression on their work and intimate relationships. As a psychoanalytic therapist, I’m trained to provide intensive therapy that leads to long-term change. My therapeutic style is curious and playful, direct and deep. Many of my clients experience complex life situations with social, cultural, and political significance. I carefully explore these situations without trying to ‘fix’ them. In general, I tend to think clients have conflicts that need to be better understood rather than problems that need to be fixed. In addition to clinical work, I’m a PhD candidate in the humanities, a scholar in the field of psychoanalysis, and a longtime participant in art and music subcultures.
