Feelings of sadness, worry, angry and frustration are some of the emotions that I help my clients address and overcome in order to live a more fulfill, happy, and satisfying life. My therapy of choice is Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) although I use an eclectic approach integrating other therapies (CBT/DBT/MI) depending on your needs. The aim of ACT is learning to relate differently to difficult thoughts and feelings and taking actions that align with your values despite these thoughts and feelings. Values-based living is living each day like it’s your last and acting on what matters to you deep in you. You don’t have to live with the pain of wishing you’d lived differently. Taking these valued actions despite difficult thoughts and feelings is the difference between life-enhancing pain and life-draining pain. Yes, your pain can be your asset. Mindfulness is one of many skill sets ACT draws from in order to overcome your pain and transforming it. I will meet you “where you are”, and take into account how you are impacted by your environments and your past conditioning. I also work with people struggling with substances, depression, anxiety, and general life stress.
