The most meaningful personal growth can spring from pain and suffering. It may not feel that way in the middle of hard times, and yet that possibility to grow and change is always there. Everyone has to potential to effect change in their lives – everyone. We may lose sight of this because our thoughts and feelings keep us stuck. We may even feel like we have lost ourselves completely. The good news is we have more power and control to effect change than we often realize. Therapy provides the space to delve into our often complex issues, explore them in detail, make sense of them, and change what we can and accept what we cannot. In therapy, we will start where you are ready to make changes. I offer support as we explore your struggles, encouragement to challenge old ways of coping, and I’ll be right along with you as you make change happen. I’m an electric therapist – I was first trained in psychodynamics, and also use quite a bit of CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused modalities. I believe in change. It’s always happening, even if we can’t see it, and whether we want it or not. Change can be a scary concept, especially when we feel like we are at its mercy. At the same time, change can also be just what we need to build a life worth living. Therapy may be helpful in embracing change and making it work for you.
