Therapist Overview
I am a licensed clinical psychologist (PhD) who specializes in treating personality, sleep, mood, and anxiety disorders. As a preferred provider for the Virginia Health Practitioner Monitoring Program, I also have experience working with impaired professionals in high-level positions as well as other psychologists and psychotherapists. I also provide teletherapy as well as clinical supervision for other mental health professionals. I completed my clinical training at Penn State and the University of Pennsylvania and have three physical office locations in the DC area (Arlington, Gaithersburg, & Germantown). Choosing a therapist can be difficult. It’s important to find one who matches your needs, feels comfortable to talk to, and stays up to date with research. Your treatment needs will be addressed privately and professionally. I am also more than willing to work with rare disorders or challenging issues that may be difficult to talk about. In addition to clinical practice, I teach, write, and conduct research. I have trained therapists at Penn State, the University of Pennsylvania, and other institutions. I have more than 45 professional publications (including three books through Oxford University Press) and regularly lecture in the US and abroad on psychotherapy and other clinical matters.
