Therapist Overview

Have you noticed that your talk therapy is giving you good insight about your thoughts and feelings but isn’t changing how you feel on a deeper level? Have you identified reasons why you react but still find yourself triggered in new situations? I use a mind-body approach to teach coping skills and how to shift your emotionally anxious state to a more relaxed state. I can help you develop a more integrated felt sense of a past situation and help you achieve lasting healing on current issues, staying less bothered by them in future situations. My sessions often incorporate EMDR therapy. Often what you know to be true is very different from what you feel deep down. EMDR assists you in accessing stuck emotions and patterns of behavior, changing their meaning and intensity and allows the brain to make new connections. Literally new learning takes place! EMDR and sensorimotor therapy are core parts of my practice, speeding processing and quickly getting to the origin of emotional triggers.
