Therapist Overview
I am a licensed Pastoral Counselor. I am a Retired U.S. Army First Sergeant (21 years); I am a Disabled Vietnam Veteran. I am also a Retired Manager, Customer Service, U.S. Postal Service, (29 years). I have been involved with people all my life. I am trained in individual, group, marriage, substance-abuse and addiction counseling. I am also a Licensed Temperament Therapist. As a Christian Counselor I believe that hiding our beliefs and trying to do value-free counseling is both unwise and impossible to do. I believe that God’s Word should be applied to all of our issues because if the Word of God cannot do it, it cannot be done! I offer help for people using Temperament Therapy, with issues such as fear, guilt, depression, alcohol, anger, homosexual activity, marital conflict, lack of intimacy, poor communication, marriage burnout, maintaining employment, cultural differences, sexual abuse, A.D.H.D., Son or daughter having a problem with-anger, depression, poor grades, smoking, etc. As I begin a session after prayer, I put aside my viewpoint in order to see the other client point of view. Where are they coming from. I listen very well and try to feel their pain and their hurt as I take some notes. I try to reassure them that there is hope in spite of their situation.
