My ideal clients avoid cookie-cutter formulas and psychotherapeutic truisms. They seek useful self-knowledge and authenticity; freedom from self-blame, doubt, anxiety, and depression; confidence during life changes and clarity of purpose; and dignity in a confused and often shallow culture. I am a Karen Horney psychoanalyst with advanced training in human development, self psychology, culture and social psychology, stress management, yoga, and health. I practice integral psychology in short-term and traditional venues to heal body, mind, and spirit. I treat root causes --not just symptoms. True healing renews energy and the joy of life. I've experienced radical social change from the conformism of the 1950s, the revolution of the 1960s, the disco world of the 1980s, to the present. I have been through booms and busts. I've seen the blind alleys of human passion and misjudgment --been there, done that. I have skill and first-hand experience of survival and flourishing.
