So many middle school girls are struggling socially right now. What do you do if this was supposed to be “your year” to put yourself out there and make friends, and instead you’re stuck at home in your room all day? It can be hard to stay in touch with people when you’re trying to talk over a bunch of other kids in an all-class Zoom call. This is especially true for girls who feel their interests don’t always line up with other girls their age–how do you meet other like-minded people who are going to really “get” you? The D&D Girls’ Social Group is a place where middle schoolers (ages 11-14) can connect with other like-minded girls, brush up on social skills, and discover a new creative outlet. Groups are led by both a child therapist (that’s me!) as well as an actor, teacher, and self-described game nerd who will be leading us through the Game of Dungeons & Dragons. We’ll be meeting online for 6 weeks, in small groups designed to encourage socializing and reduce Zoom fatigue. This
