Therapist Overview

I work from a primarily relational based framework that takes into account various influential factors, some of which include the impact of early development, attachment relationships, components of identity, methods of striving for significance and belonging in the world, and strategies for establishing resilience and coping with distress. I take on a curious and collaborative approach with my clients in examining these influences. Doing so brings about awareness of one’s sensitivities and stressors, core values, and the patterns of behavior that cause one to feel “stuck” or overwhelmed. I also teach practical skills and methods for managing daily life stressors, including mindfulness, drawn from concepts of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I have experience working with individuals across the lifespan (children, adolescents, adults), couples, and families.
