Therapist Overview
Healthy child and adolescent development is crucial in order to sustain positive and successful transitions into the next stages of life. From early development to older childhood, older childhood to adolescence, adolescence to young adulthood and so on, each stage of development will impact the later. Providing children and teens with appropriate tools and coping skills for a variety of social, emotional, and mental health-related concerns allows for positive identity formation and preparedness for challenges to come ahead. By incorporating person-centered play therapy techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and solution-focused therapy along with mindfulness practices, my goal is to provide tools and strategies for children and teens for shift their negative thinking patterns to positive thinking patterns while encouraging exploration of ways to overcome challenges. “To my mind, empathy is in itself a healing agent. It is one of the most potent aspects of therapy, because it releases, it confirms, it brings even the most frightened client into the human race. If a person is understood, he or she belongs.” – Carl Rogers
