Therapist Overview
I have been practicing clinical psychology for nearly 20 years as a licensed psychologist. In that time, I have had the pleasure of working with many people who have struggled with a wide range of challenges including relationship and couple’s difficulties, addiction, anxiety, depression, serious health concerns, loss, and trauma. I utilize a number of different perspectives including cognitive-behavioral, emotion focused individual and couples, and dynamic therapies. I am also trained in EMDR, mindfulness, relaxation, stress, and pain management. Above all else, a solid therapeutic relationship is the vehicle through which all therapies are most helpful. Feeling understood is the most important platform from which my clients make progress. I believe people need an engaged therapist who knows the terrain of human experience. In addition, I also believe therapy is the place to develop skills. I focus on skill development such as managing difficult feelings, communicating more effectively, managing distressing and traumatic experience, improving coping, and changing unhelpful behaviors and patterns. Being understood, gaining awareness, and developing better skills to improve your relationship with yourself and others is what I hope to offer.
