Therapist Overview
Psychotherapy is a process that should generate meaning and self-understanding in a dialogue between client and clinician. In starting this process, it is my goal to provide you with a space that emphasizes empathy, non-judgement, and confidentiality. These concepts help create the environment in which you can express any thought or feeling that comes up, whether it be positive, negative, or somewhere in-between. I work with clients presenting with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, and relational/family issues to help them gain insight into their behaviors and feelings. My primary approach is psychodynamic in nature, meaning we will explore current conflicts and how they relate to past conflicts. I also integrate techniques from other approaches such as mindfulness based cognitive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and existential/humanistic therapies to provide the most adaptive treatment for your situation. Ultimately, I want to help reduce your symptoms while assisting you in understanding yourself. We will work together to identify what works for you, what doesn’t work for you, and what your peace of mind entails.
