Men are often raised to believe that asking for help is a sign of weakness. Many of us were taught to be stoic, no matter what we are feeling. This is an unfortunate and destructive stigma. It can influence many to ignore the importance of striving to be mentally healthy, or even to avoid confiding in close friends or family. This type of emotional isolation can lead to unhealthy stress levels, difficulty with relationships and friendships, or simply a general dissatisfaction with life, among other problems. Of course, I work with female clients, as well. I provide clients the opportunity to deal with the obstacles that stand between them, and the lives they want to lead. I provide a judgment-free zone, where clients can speak freely and receive honest and insightful feedback. It is my job to be an ally and guide to you, as you work through your challenges toward your goals. I work with adults of all cultural backgrounds, genders, ethnicities, and abilities. My theoretical orientation is eclectic, but rooted in the principles of Humanistic and Existential therapeutic styles. In my approach, I also emphasize mindfulness, and I am skilled in the therapeutic use of various cognitive-behavioral techniques.
