Therapist Overview
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, my job is to hold hope, especially when it’s hard to find. I work to create a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where individuals can explore their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. I’m here to support you in identifying and processing past hurts that continue to influence relationships and self-confidence, as well as offer encouragement through difficult life transitions. My goal is to foster a safe and therapeutic relationship that allows you to practice new ways of relating to painful emotions, build resilience, and create a rich and meaningful life. I work from an existential and person-centered theoretical orientation, focusing on empathy, self-determination, and finding meaning in life. I ground my practice in evidence-based treatment, incorporating techniques from Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and interpersonal neurobiology. Though I work with a wide range of clients, I am most passionate about eating disorders, grief & death acceptance, expressive arts therapy, health and veterinary professionals, and recovery from high-control religions. I am body-positive, LGBTQ+-affirming, polyamory/lifestyle and kink-affirming, and welcoming of all levels of spirituality and faith.
